Domestic abuse is a horrible plague affecting our society today and sadly it is one of the major contributors to the breaking down of marriages and trauma to the children like war domestic violence also claims the lives of its victims and leave scars that take decades to heal. Sometimes the wounds are so deep that the victims never find true healing nor peace.
Research and statistics have proven that women are abused almost every day. Most of the time by their families, children, and extended families even their husbands. Police vehicles are running around trying to arrest perpetrators who destroy the lives of women almost every day. Husbands’ often abuse their wives because of their infidelities and insecurities, kids speak unbearable words to their mothers over material things, mothers-in-law despise their daughters-in-law over a property. Hospital wards are full of injured women and courts are filled by women with different stories and all kinds of abusive experiences. Some are psychologically suppressed, others are abused emotionally and physically. Morgues are filled with bodies of vulnerable and powerless souls that couldn’t defend themselves in the face of death. In some cases others deliberately end their lives because they couldn’t contain the abuse anymore, when will it be enough? It’s astonishing how they are able to smile given their broken souls, how they live under the shadows of pain and how bravely they walk passed the roads filled with potholes of shame but yet they try beyond measure to be strong enough to live life, not just for themselves but for everyone… because it is in their nature. They continue to serve for the good of everyone. They aren’t just mothers to their kids, they have pure hearts, extended love and they are pillars of strengths within their families and the society. They carry burdens beyond what we can imagine and the least they deserve is for everyone to extend them
